How to clean ARRMA RC models
After you’ve taken your vehicles for a spin and tested out new drifting techniques, it’s time for a good clean to keep them in tiptop shape. All ARRMA RC models are waterproof and built to withstand the mud, rain, dirt and sand, so no need to worry about water damage from cleaning.- Pro-tip: Before you begin cleaning, use a degreaser to loosen up any dirt or mud that may be stuck on or around the diffs, shocks and boots. Let it sit for about 3-5 minutes, then spray it down with a hose.
- Step 1: Remove your batteries - To avoid running into the possibility of short-circuiting your car, remove the power source before you start cleaning. Use compressed air to loosen dust and debris from the chassis, bearings and electrical wirings, and a toothbrush to dust them away.
- Step 2 - Remove and clean tyres - Grab a cup with some soapy water and a toothbrush. Use the toothbrush to get into any crevices that the initial hose down may have missed. Rise and dry well with a microfiber cloth. Ensure to dry thoroughly to avoid any possibility of rusting.
- Step 3 - Look for signs of rust - If you are using an older model, you may encounter rust in some areas. Take time to search for any and use anti-rust sprays to remove them.
- Step 4 - Lubricate the joints and moving parts - After you have washed the car, you will lose the lubrication that causes it to move smoothly. Apply lubricants, such as WD-40, to the drivetrain and suspension components.
- Step 5 - Do a final check to ensure that the vehicle is fully dry and lubricated, then reassemble.
